    I'm a newbie to graphics and I don't need to be inspired by samples of digital graphics (2advanced.com and many others). What I need is a how to. Is there any book that covers this?

    take a look at the 'new masters of flash' book from the friends of ed (there's a chapter by eric jordan), or maybe hillman curtis's 'flash motion graphics'...

    Hey,

    If you want to go beyond what flash can do, use photoshop, try looking at some http://www.phong.com tutorials to get a good idea on how to make awesome effects.
