    Thumbs up

when flash throws this error message is there any hope for my poor little .fla file??

maybe its a stoopid question, i dunno, but i really would like to work some more on it.

    is my file completely corrupted.
has anyone dealt with this before successfully??

generally (in my experience at least) this comes from a FAT16 file system file being opened on a FAT32 computer (or the other way around), if you've made any upgrades to your computer or messed with the OS, you might get this, one thing to try is emailing the file to yourself and re-downloading it, i dunno why this works but sometimes it fixes it.

Did you create this file yourself or did someone else? Was it working fine and then quit, or has anything happened to your system recently?

    i created the file..
basically, i was working on it and everythign was fine...
then i published it 'cause i thought it was finished, but of course there was a small problem...

when i went back to try and fix said small problem, the .fla file wouldn't open and threw that message at me. (i.e. "unexpected file format".)

i fear there may be no hope..

Try uninstalling then re-installing flash this may help.
