Help!
I need to use a large .jpg as the background in a Flash presentation. I know that there is the option to convert a jpg to vector, within Flash.
Is this better? Does it cut down on file size and loading time?
I tried it before, and it seemed to make the file bigger.
(Yes, I was tweening it.)
This particular presentation will be on a PC, not on the web, so I'd like a response for both a web-based situation and a static PC situation, please.
Thanks!

Don't bother for either situation. It will most likely make the file bigger because it basically makes a vector image out of each pixel.

use the jpeg option, tracing a bitmap (jpg, gif, etc) into a vector is only worth while if your image has few curves and corners. A complex image as a vector will be much larger than a jpg or gif.
there's no advantage to tracing a bitmap, if you have an image you want to be able to tween in some way it can work, but generally not.

Thanks!
Thank you!
That's all I needed to hear!
