Can this be for real? The site claims NO banner ads, NO pop ups.. Just the real thing.. Has anyone heard of this??

tricky... they up the price 5x by their 'Activation Fee' and you gotta pre-pay, so what happens in 3 mo when they go under???

    12 X $1.00 + $49.99 activation fee...????

Don't know, but seems kind of sketchy to me...

    DS

(PS: I personally think that the time it takes a hosting co's site to download is indictitive of their service and quality. Not file sizes, but actual bandwidth... this one took forever, and I feel so would yours... Just a thought)

What about this one here: http://www.hostica.com

Does it seems to be a good one?

    And this one: http://www.discount-hosting.com

Thanks in advance for your opinion!

Have to agree with [-S|NiStEr_MiNd-], You always get what you pay for...

Most nice hosts will wave the activation fee anyway...

Buy the best so you can enjoy the best-

Why not go to the flee-market and buy some designer cloths...

we experimented with a bunch of the "cheap hosting sites" and even the larger ones like "readyhosting" had incredibly slow download speeds...we tested side by side with several other hosting co's like Verio etc. Advice here is that if you don't care about the clients experience or if you are just running some tiny insignificant app or web site, then go with the cheapo...otherwise stay away from them.
