While surfing through Flashkit and all the open source and obvious backend, what does it take?

Memory? How much would you need?
Bandwith/Pipe? There are tons of people.
Boards? Is this a custom backend board or a V-bul.
Did Flashkit startup the FK conferance after starting this site?
What was FK like when it first started out?
And finally, without advertising, monthly costs...

I wonder if FK runs it's own server...if not I can't imagine the monthly hosting costs...

Just bored and wondering.....Anyone care to guess?

Hope that's not the case. I'd want a refund. I say we all buck a dollar for a new server.

Kitchee, it seems from your other post that you are more than just "curious'.

Flashkit has been around at least a year and a half, the conference came along after internet.com became a partner this spring, as I recall.

I seem to remember Mark commenting on the installation of at least a couple servers - the forums certainly run separately.

What you have in mind can probably be started quite small.

You might look at something like http://www.phpbuilder.com for ideas.

But I'd still like to hear the no-bs answers to your questions about the scale of the fk operations.
