    Hi

    I followed your example for my movie and I am running into some problems. Please excuse me, for I am New at this. I have a movieclip (instance/mc1) on
    frame 36 on my root timeline. At the end of this clip on the last frame I have a button that I dragged in (button is tracked as button not menu). I
    added actions to this button

    on press
    begin tell target {"/mc2")
    (Is this right I have tryed mc2 alone with no slash)
    play
    end tell target
    end on

    On the root timeline on frame # 37 I have another clip instance name of mc2

    when I test movie it plays all the way the last frame in mc1 where the button is and I click on the button and nothing happens. But if I right click the mouse, I get a menu with "play" in it. If I scroll to play, then
    mc2 plays ok.

    Why is that? Can you tell what I am doing wrong ?

    If you can send Your ideas to

    You should be having a stop action in your movie cilp mc2 in the first frame which might be over writing the play action.
    Also make sure that the movieclip mc2 is there in the place where you call the button action in the main timeline

    on (release) {
    tellTarget ("/mc2") {
    gotoAndPlay (2);
    }
    }
    on (release) {
    _root.mc2.gotoAndPlay(2)
    }

    then either of this code should work

    Worked for me

    Regards...

    Thx for the help. I tried what You said above, but I don't get the results of continued play. I still must right click for a menu and scroll to play. Then MC2 plays. Does this mean I have the layer tageted correctly? It does play but I have to "kick it" so to speak. I checked the first frames of the mc2 and there are no stops. Could you send me an example fla please??
