So I take it, in this whole community, no one knows what a pixel font is?
Well I downloaded some but they look just as crappy as the rest of my fonts in flash so- I'm lost, again, on these "pixel fonts."

Pixel Fonts
Where did you download the fonts from?
A lot of the pixelfonts awailable out there have to be set to exactly 8 pixels (or multiples of 8) - and the textfields must be set on round XY coordinates, that is whole pixels (not 13.7 but 14.0 etc.).
if you are using a dynamic textfield, remember to embed the font.
hope this helps.

Thanks so much for responding.
Well... I have the text fields in a movie clip, and they are on whole values in the clip.. then the clip is on whole values in the main timeline too.
The font "says" it's at 8 point, but looks huge, and fuzzy too. Like it's so big you can see each pixel.
I got them from minml.com I think, but have no clue- do you install them and use them just like any other font? They look great on some of the sites and footers I've seen them used on, but of course they don't help me out at all.
Thanks

yes, you install them like other fonts.
what do you mean by "it's so big you can see each pixel"?
are you sure there isn't a transform on the textfield in any of the movieclips?
do you view the movie in flashplayer/browser?

one more thing skitten78.. is allowscale mode of ur movie set to false? coz if its set to true i think if u enlarged the flash player ur font also are enlarged with respect to the size of the flash player window.
also note that if u used it in dynamic textfield, it is not anti aliased... that means if this will be enlarged u would really see each pixels...

one last thing...
make sure that you use whole numbers with those damned pixel fonts. For example, make sure that the text box they are in is placed at X and Y using whole numbers (no decimals)... and that their height and width are whole #'s as well ... that will fix your blurry-ness...

I think I followed all the rules and it still looks like shizznit
Ok
I was going to put my .swf up here and my .fla so people could see what I mean, but I dont know how.
I checked all that about the text and it still looks terible.
How come-
On all the sites that I see that use the pixel fonts, the fonts are really small AND look really good?
Mine is HUGE and looks TERRIBLE.

if you want to post those files, just use a link to your webserver, and files...
Could be a simple fix for your problem
