Does anyone know, aside from breaking apart, how do you mask text? I looked on the macromedia site and they suggested some font outline thing that you check in a box, can't find it anywhere in Flash 5.

    HELP Please!
    Thanks

Hi skitten78...if you want to mask "dynamic" text you need to embed the font...on the Text Options Panel it's the button at the bottom with this on it "[...]"

It will add about 20 to 30k to your movie depending on font style...

    Hope this helps...

Hi again...My understanding is that "static" text is automatically embedded so masking is no problem...

...I just did a quick test to make sure...and I had no problems masking static text...

    I am not cool enough.

Flash must not like me, then, I can't mask over "regular" text at ALL!

Well, I wasn't sure...but I just discovered you can't use "device fonts" for your static text...

You have to pick a font style...

If you have picked a font style, make sure in the Text Options panel that you don't have "Use Device Fonts" checked , also...

Other than that, it should work...
