I use alot of external txt files, with and without scrolbar.
In the flash previeuw everything is running smooth, but when I put it in the server, sometimes it takes way to long to load a 1K txt file or it doesn't even load at all.
the problem seems to be worse when I revisit a link (so the first time things are ok, but the 2end......)
Is there's a way to avoid this?
no idea.. what's your code? is the server slow? do you encounter the same problem when loading movies?
maybe try out a different hosting company...
May be it is a %$#@@ host, but I figured when it is possible to preload the txt files (it's not much data anyway) would solve the problem.
the code is a simple loadVariable(text.txt,"").
Strange though that the first time it tries to load it works far better than the second.....?
I saw an example of a loaded txt variable where the textfile was stored in a definition like "_root.textfile = blah, blah" but I tried that and it doesn't seem to work for scrolling my scrolling device.....
any ideas on preloading or the _root-thing??
ehh.. what I forgot to say was...
It is a textfile only problem. So all the MC load smoothly
