I am looking for some help on how to create a collapsable menu system.

What I am looking to create is a system where pressing on a menu item will expose a sub menu which pushes the other menu item buttons down. Importantly, I am trying to figure out how to create one that closes the previously opened sub menu when the next menu item button is pressed.

I have seen this around a far bit... but need some help... can anyone point me in the right direction?

you should find one on this site search through flashkits fla's

    Try http://www.ultrashock.com
    Try http://www.were-here.com/
    Try http://www.flashmove.com/
    Try http://www.flashplanet.com

If you follow the links from this site and search a bit you will find them.

Thanks for the response, but I checked all the links to no avail.

What I am looking for is a menu with each button listed one on top of the other, each having a sub-menu that becomes visible when a button is pressed, like in the example below.

    Button 1
    Button 2
    Sub-Button 1
    Sub-Button 2
    Sub-Button 3
    Button 3

The catch is that I would like everything to revert to its original state when another menu button is pressed... i.e. Button 2 has been pressed and is showing its Sub-Buttons, if Button 1 is then pressed I want Button 2 to 'close', Button 3 to move back up to its original place just below Button 2 and Button 1 to show its Sub-Buttons.

I have managed to get one going where the Sub-Menus stay down, but cannot manage to get them to close upon the press of another button.

I have searched a lot of tutorial and fla sites, but have not found what I am looking for...
