i made a hitTest PERFECTLY, but it just isnt working.
so frustrating!
also, my movement is choppy and i havnt been able to work that out

That's the same name as the movieclip instance. So don't say "i made a hitTest PERFECTLY", because you didn't. You're checking if your player is hitting the number 4, which it obviously isn't. By the way, you don't "make a hitTest", you're using hitTest
To make the movement less choppy, increase the framerate (modify/document).
