I found another one that is practically the same idea, but much easier to explain:

    http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Effec...04/index.shtml

    -----------------

-Your movie will consist of four layers

-On the top layer, you will have the light itself. It is important that you make the fill of the beam at less than 100% alpha, so you can see the text hrough it.

-On the layer next to the top, you will have a rplica of the beam layer.Turn this into a mask Layer.

-On layer 3, You will have the illuminated version of the bottm layer.

-On the bottom layer, you will have the items to be illuminated at any point in the movie.

No. On the 3rd layer (this is the one right above the bottom layer), you will have the illuminated version of the bottom layer.

For example, if when there is no light, the text is grey, and when there is light, the text is white...grey text goes on the bottom layer, and the white text goes on the 3rd one.

Are you trying to have something bounce in a static animation or in an interactive animation?

If you are trying to make it in a static animation, simply use tweening with easing, so that it will accelerate or decelerate as it reaches the end of the tween.

If its for a dynamic, user controlled one, I'm not sure what to do. You might want to post this in the Flash 5 AS forum...many as whiz's in there!
