wolfenstein isn't bad, i was just disappointed with the atmosphere created, it just feels like another quake game when fps's have come so far since then, thanks to the advanced scripting in games like half life and max payne. I would have thought that wolfenstien would have taken a step beyond that, at least in the single player game. Quake arena was deliberately marketed as an online game and it looks like the single player experience in wolfenstein hasn't been given the 'half life' treatment.

    Killabry,
I know these aren't really traditional fps games, but I LOVE the Red Storm stuff -- Rainbow 6, Rogue Spear, Ghost Recon, etc. If you're looking for some really challenging game play, try these. It's not your old "run around shooting everything in sight while using your invincibility code" game. It's more of a "get shot once and you're dead". You open a door or break some glass or splash in some water and the bad guys come running . You use a gun without a silencer and they are on you in a heartbeat. You toss a grenade and they get out of the way. It's really a thinking man's game because you have to pick and arm your team and then plan your assault on a location using blueprints...and then hope your recon provided some good information. Pretty cool stuff!

yeah i prefer these kind of games, something that you have to think about rather than just bam bam die die. I think this is why i'm really disappointed in wolfenstein, it has the same gameplay as quake: arena.

the best intelligent game at the moment is operation **********, if you like the idea of red storm stuff check it out, it has this huge world to play in, you can literally walk for 50 kilometres over never repeating landscape. The graphics aren't the best (but they're better than ghost recon) though the gameplay is astounding, you can drive anything, pick up and fire anything, it's great.

one of the best things about is the mission editor, you can download hundreds of missions off the net, many of them professional quality and usually less than 30k in size, bigger ones usually have custom music. You can also download a whole lot of custom models, weapons, vehicles, many things, it's the ultimate in extendible games and well worth checking out.

Return to castle wolfenstein, a point gun and bang bang??

Give it a go Aversion, as you progress further into the game, some of the missions require alot of stealth If you go in guns blazing, they'll detect you, and you fail the missons.

To tell you the truth I haven't gotten that far, but I've watched my roomate play. The AI is fantastic, you lob a grenade at an enemy, They'll kick it back towards you if it hasn't gone off yet. In my opinon It's far far different from Quake III, where as in that Game, you stay put for a second, and you either get railed or fragged.

I do agree with you though on how it looks, The 3D Engine looks similar to Q3, it's got that clunky look to it.

    My two cents.

Got Galactic battlegrounds the other day.

Looks and pretty much feels like age of empires II, except that there is starwars people in it. Including the bloody Gungans.

It's all about Wolfenstein right now! It's the first game since Quake 1 that I've been inclined to put money down for and it was worth every canadian penny!

I love games...I even host my own LAN parties on the weekend. My clan name is Aki_MHz

I just got Wolfenstein and it's good, but the multiplayer sucks...It's team based, unless you like that stuff...Me...I'm a shoot em up type of gal.. Kill, Kill, Kill.. Heheh!!

Another awsome game is Ghost Recon.. Ohhh.. I love this game. It's as close to reality as you're going to get. There's nothing like hunting down terrorist... That seems to be the "trend" now!

    Kill or be killed,
