I cannot open MY .swf in the standalone player...

but my major problem, is that I cannot open my .fla (old)(also Flash 5)
the one I created before I format my drive ( my backups )..
I've got this error: "unexpected file format"

BUT, if I create new .fla, I can open them.....(in Flash 5)

    Is it clearer ?

sorry for my bad english , i'm french..

tks to the one who will help me!

I have no idea of what is wrong. R u sure u installed the same version u used to create the files? There is a known issue about not opening files but it has to do with files created in PC and can't be opened in Mac. Try to search in the Macromedia support database.

Did u have a disk crush? Maybe is just that. Some files are corrupted cause of it. Or maybe something went wrong with your backup...
