Thread: ActionScripting F5 - _alpha vs. alpha effect

  1. #1
Since Action Scripting Flash 5 is down right now, I was hoping you guys could help out an F5er.

    Problem:
I am noticing that when I set a property value (_alpha) to a movie using a button (via TellTargeting), it is permenent to THAT movie instance. Even when I change the aplha effect via the timeline OF THAT same movie, the _alpha stays what I assigned it to (it stays the same value no matter what I do in the timeline, ie- alpha effect).

    Question:
Is there a way to reset the variable so I can use the timeline to change the alpha channel again? The only I could find to do this is by take the instance TOTALLY out of the movie and back in again, at the time bar moves.

    Thank you.
