    Question

Does anyone know of a way to detect the Flash 4.02x plugin that is print-capable? (either from within Flash or another way...)

Yesterday we launched http://www.cecwheels.com/ with a Flash Generator/Cold Fusion vehicle/car/wheel configurator, but had to disable the print feature on this live site because it resets the loaded movie when you try to print if you do not have the latest player version. (argh!)

If I could find a way for it to not reset, or detect for the proper player, I could enable printing again...

You can see/test the print-capable version at our beta PR2 site and tell me what you think:
    http://208.46.186.132/cecwheels/pr2/...cle_ID=AUA4003

( On the above link javascript detail pop-ups will not work properly because it is not in the proper html template. To see all that go through the regular query process at http://www.cecwheels.com/ )

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

    regards,

    Cool

Have you tried the Mothership? They just put a technote out on detection of plugins. They might have better insight to the problem. support@macromedia.com or www.macromedia.com
Tough spot to be in. Hope it works out. Regards, Bill

In the beginning the web was without shape and color, and the hype covered the darkness of the net. Then there was a Flash and life came to the web and vision became reality.
