I have a movie with only a single frame on the main timeline. Ninety percent of the movie is in one big movieclip with other movie clips nested inside it.

My O'reilly book seems to be telling me that movieclips are not rendered until fully loaded. It says "Therefore, getBytesloaded() is effective only when used with a main movie or an external .swf being loaded into an instance or level." So how do I give my viewer some indication that my giant clip is being downloaded and the end is near? I wanted a countdown from five to one.

    The problem is at http://www.charliecampbell.com
