Hi all,
I was hoping I could get some help figuring out how this image was built.
http://www.digitalwebeffects.com/microskills/home.htm
I actually applied to the company that did this site and that's how I came upon the site. Anyway, I was curious if I could get some help as to how it was made. I like the idea, but I wouldn't know where to begin.
It looks to me like the circles are from swift 3d. Would you take the rendered cirlces from swift 3d and bring them into photoshop and just work them there?
And how can you get the drop shadow from the logo in flash?
I can understand if the logo was made in photoshop, but how was it brought into flash with the drop shadow?
I hope some of this or all of this make sense. My whole goal was that I thought this was a cool looking site, so what better way to learn then by trying to deconstruct it.
Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

use dhtml to position the flash script and set the flash obj with wmode=transparent (white area becomes transparent). the jpegs on the websites will be visible behind the blank spaces on the flash script.

i am not exactly sure what you are asking, but i think these are the answers:
1. most likely, the circles are imported directly from Swift3D. there should be no reason to bring them into photoshop.
2. the drop shadow behind the logo was most likely created using MODIFY>SHAPE>SOFTEN FILL EDGES.
hope this helps.

To get the logo into flash with the dropshadow...
Make it in photoshop... on transparant background...
Simply save as PNG... that way it will keep transparancy...
even after import in flash...
About the circles..this can be done in Illustrator/Photoshop too...
It's not because something looks 3D it is made in such program...
Anyway... Save as PNG and you will keep the transparancy...
hope this helps
