I want to record a 30sec peice of music to play in the background of a small Flash intro. What is the best recording settings for Bit Rate, Sampling rate etc. Is there any thing I should know when importing into Flash ? I am using V3
I have ver. 4 but the same should apply to ver. 3 as well if not I am sure someone will correct me. Most ppl here export their sounds in mp3 format because of it small size, but where alot of ppl differ is in the bitrate they use which varies from like 8-128 bits. I like to use anywhere inbetween 20-64 it just depends on how clear I want the sound to be.
Just remember the higher bitrate the larger the file and the larger the file the longer it takes to download. So it does not make much sense to make a huge 500kb file that takes 2-4 mins to download and only have like 20 sec. of play time. So just fine tune it until you get the results you want while at the same time keeping in mind the file size.
Hope that helps
If you want to record your own stuff
then record it at 44.1khz 16bit stereo.
save it so if you need it later you'll still have the original.
Then edit it and change it to
22khz 16bit mono and save it.
This copy will be used for importation into flash.
Then Import it into Flash
and when you publish it set the audio to
mp3 64kbps mono fast.
Thanks everyone for the reply, I will put your advice straight to work.
