    hi,
i am using 10 point text against a black background. when i view the swf file, the text becomes antialised and smudges with the background and is not so much readable.
ps let me know how to have sharp text in flash 4.
    thanks for your time.

    you know...

I thought that just choosing one of the 3 top fonts, the device fonts, would have done that...but upon further inspection, flash seems to anti-alias them as well. Hmm...you might try a different font or a different background...

If anyone else knows a way to do this, I'd like to know too.

    fonts in flash

yeah , but transparent giffs will increase my size of the movie if there is lots of text.
then the animation will have lots of limitations.
i cannot animate text the way i can do it with flash vector fonts.
    other thing-
i tried using device fonts on publish. it does not work on macs.
secondly. it completely changes the colors specified for fonts.
    thirdly-
i also tried using the text field area fonts. but the linitation is that i cannot animate it. it sets a new variable. it cannot be converted into a symbol. there are no allignment options.
forthly- control alt shift T only is for view in .flash file. it has no effect in swf file.
what do you guys feel about these issues ????
    any answers further....
