bandwidth control

hi guys, i was searching for a software that allows me to reduce my bandwidth.
i'll explain:
i'm in a lan with a 768kbs line, and i want to test some sites and see them as a 56kb modem.
the problem is that i can't use a normal modem, so i got to fake it cutting my existing connection.
any solutions?
