    How could I create a password box?
    I want someone to enter the user name and password, that I assign. Check a File(I don't know what file it is supposed to be) and then allow access to the protected page if correct.

    If you read my earlier post on forms, I am clueless on forms. I don't know how to write asp or anything other than HTML and the wonderful 3D Flash program.

    Dizy,

    Your gonna have to get your self a book on CGI, PHP, ASP etc and learn that, it's the only way you will be able to access variables on the server.

    Making a password editbox is easy there is a checkbox for it in the properties of the editbox. If you don't mind keeping the password in the swf you can just check it there.

    Yeah, but

    for a simple way to do this, you can do something like

    users=1
    user1=guy
    pass1=pass
    etc...etc...

    then somehow you would use javascript to get the users variable, then check against userNUM and passNUM within a for like loop in the javascript.

    Hi.

    Not sure exactly what you are out to achieve.

    If you want to get some information from the people that visit your site you can try what I did.

    1. visit http://www.responders.com and get a free responder.
    2. create a html page with flash that asks for a password for entry to the main site and a button to get a free password.
    3. have the button to obtain a free pass word send them to the responder.
    4. have the responder send them a password to the're email address.
    5. !! note !! the password will be static for all who request it.

    It helped me get a lot of useful information from my visitors.

    Regards,
    a_non_amous.

    Hi I have working on ideas for a password system
    at the moment im leaning towards Javascript and doing a bit of maths with the username length and password length.
    the JS file will only hold number values for each user or user level.
    when i get it working I will post it.
    But im of for a weeks R&R now.

    Ian
