Do you know the Arial 11 font - I use it a lot. When I downloaded it I found it at http://htmlandbeyond.tripod.com/ari11fla.zip (I think someone posted that here back last summer, but search is not working for me right now). It is one of those stupid tripod addresses that needs to be copied and pasted into the browser rather than clicked.

Hope this does it for you,

    Flick

That is an interesting font.. It seems to actually look better when antialiased (or is this just me?)
I'm still open to suggestions for any others though...

dafont.com has a great archive, many larger fonts.

bitmapmania also has large fonts, though most of them on the decorative side

kiemie - thanks for dafonts - didn't know that and it has some nice things.

carina - I apologize for not mentioning yours as I use the fixed series a lot - very nice.

    Cheers,

no problem, and as you use the fixed series a lot you may be glad to hear that teacher's pet will soon be out with a fixed width version.

    Hey there,

I'm the author of the Arial 11 for Flash font. Didn't know there was actually some interest in it, but someone dropped a note in my e-mail asking if he could download it because he heard about it here at the Flashkit forums. Would anyone here be interested in hosting it?

    Patrick,

Here is another thread in which great interest is expressed in Arial 11 - http://board.flashkit.com/board/show...hreadid=281615

While you are waiting to have it hosted it seems that it can still be saved on right click from the tripod link. Do you have any objections to people distributing it by email? It really is one of the very nice ones.

    Cheers,

    Flick

    Hey monkii,

Thanks for the invitation. Come to think of it, it would probably better for everyone if I send it to dafont.com, so that people can get it easily. I've sent an e-mail to the owner, lets hope he likes it.

Flick, of course, you can send the font by e-mail to co-workers, friends, whatever.

    startDrag,

Yes it is possible. When you create static text in Flash, Flash automatically exports the shapes of the font you're using along with the swf, so the text is viewable in the font you selected even if that font is not installed on the user's computer.

ic, so on the text option, if I'm using another font, and the person's viewing it doesn't have the font, do I check the system font box?

    startDrag,

Nope, actually it's the exact opposite. If you choose system font, you have to be sure that the person seeing your movie has that font installed on their system, which basically restricts your choice to Arial, Verdana, Courier New and Times New Roman.

By not checking the system font option, the shapes of the font you're using are exported with your movie, which makes the movie visible exactly as you intended it on every system.

but that would render the pixel font to a graphic, and make it anti-alias.
Is there a way that you can see the font without anti-alias and not have the font?

We have some larger pixel fonts if you're still interested. Good luck with your projects!
