    Will a Flash4 fla file open in flash5?

    I am planning to uninstall Flash4 and Install Flash5.

    As far as I know Flash 5 is backwards compatable. So you should be safe in opening the Flash 4 fla in Flash 5.

    So it is'nt advisable to uninstall Flash 4 and install ver5: If i need to work with Flash 4 fla files.

    Correct. Do not uninstall Flash 4 if you still are intending to work with those Flash 4 files. I would highly recommend upgrading though...

    Flash 5 will open flash 4 files, but once the file has been opened by flash 5 flash 4 will not be able to open it again. It is probably worth keeping hold of flash 4 if you're planning to do much animation stuff though, the flash 4 interface seems better suited to that kind of work or you could hang on about 8 days for flash mx
