They added a lot of things that till now only Director could do on the web.

Do you think that Flash MX defenitly be the new Director for the web?

Flash doesn't have support of vidio cards to make nasty looking 3d images.

Flash can't (dunno about MX) connect to ports lower than 1024 to get say, email

Other than that, yeah. Hopefully flash will take over All those people that poked fun at multipul gradients won't laugh any more

Nope, still think Flash will be an asset inside of Director or some form of it. Perhaps in the future there will be more integration of some of the whiz bang Director only capablities but my guess is if you want to make money, you keep em seperated

We all can just hope that 3D support will be included in Flash 7...

'cause Director's 3D engine surely rocks.

There will never(or atleast in the near future) be support for real 3d in flash. It would bump up the filesize of the flash player too much and that would defeat the whole marketing model for macromedia flash.

What I REALY wish is that Director would look more like Flash. Especially the Lingo language. They still can make it a different player, but it would be more like an expanded flash player.

Well, it never blames to hope.... sigh

What about a 3d support add-on to the flash player? Then people playing little games and chats ect.. won't need the big download, but if they are prepared to download big 3d games I'm sure they would be prepared for a one off player add-on. Then more could come, and 3rd party add-ons for player and authoring.. Then flash would be like java! (In a sorta way)

I just got a fantastic idea. What about indead supporting add-ons on the Flash Player?

I can only DREAM of Erain making a Swift3D Flash player addon.

*makes a mental note of adding that wish to daily prayers*

maybe shockwave should become an asset of Flash instead - similar to the way they have integrated video into mx. At the moment this is exactly what I'm trying to do...
