    Somewhere in the movies section on this site I saw one movie that actually wrote stuff to text files, be it on your PC or on the server. It had (too good to be true, eh?) a piece of code that was obviously made with C or Visual C, and I will try to find you the link to the movie...
    Otherwise, Flash (the way I know it) does NOT write to text files in the old way (open for append, input or output)...

    Does anyone else remember the Basic-look-alike open myFile for Append as #FreeFile ?

    you're talking about the standalone player, yes?

    because you could always write a text file using PHP or other server-side scripting language when on the web.

    However, in Flash MX, you no longer need to write variables to the hard drive via a text file. See the sharedObjects thread! It will blow your mind!!
