Thread: Free Transform Tool

Glad to hear you enjoyed the preview!!!! :-)

Ok, with the free transform tool...

Basically, it works the same way as any shape tween... make a circle, distort it, shape tween, and everything looks right... but sometimes if the shape tween is to detailed the tween won't look right. Get what i'm saying? It has nothing to do with the actual free transform tool... the tool is used to help you distort vector objects.... works great for custom text effects, etc.

    Hope this helps...

So it wouldn't be possible to, say, drop an object on frame 1, free transform it on frame 60, turn on motion tweening, press play, and watch it transform before your eyes?

I've heard that the free transform tool only works on broken apart objects, not on movie clips or graphics. Is this true? If so, then why are they even advertising it?

distort is what everyone is talking about for perspective. it only works on raw shapes, not groups or symbols....as the guy who broke his beta agreements said..."Option4: no "

    NDA INFO....

Peter, are you refering to me when you said "guy who broke his beta agreement" ?

If so, I did not in anyway. The preview was approved by Macromedia. Also Macromedia made Flash MX public news, everyone locked into an NDA for Flash MX can now freely speak about anything, period. Anyways, thank you for your concern.

    MX question

Is mouse wheel scrolling possible with Flash MX scrollbars? Are there now mouse events related to mouse wheels?

    no.

You still cannot scroll anything in flash with the mouse wheel. It's a major shortcoming with Flash and DHTML scrollers, I think.
