Graphic Animation Movie Clip?

Ok I can make easy animations with text, fading in and out, as well as shapes, shaping from square to circle, but I have tried fading in pictures; graphics.. Doesn't work, anyone know how I can get pictures;graphics to act as broken text or shapes?? Because when i break then spread on keyframe table, as making an animation it doesnt work... help please

Put your bitmap inside a graphic symbol, then tween the symbol,

I made a bitmap image, put it in flash, converted it to a graphic symbol, then tried to make an animation, and it didnt work, what am i doing wrong? or what did i forget to do?

OK here are the actual a steps:

1. apple-r, import bitmap image
2. select image on stage, press F8, choose Graphic.
3. select the new symbol on the stage.
4. tween the symbol.

You don't need to break the image up, infact doing so will make tweening more complex...
