Concerned about the trial download date

Am I the only one concerned that there may not be a 30 day demo on the 15th? If memory serves me, and correct me if I'm wrong, Macromedia has always been a few weeks late in releasing the demos.

Macromedia will concentrate on releasing the full version first, as you would if you had a software company.

Macromedia know that the new version will be purchased by nearly every good web design company around the world so the trial is a thing to worry about later for them

But, the trial as you say will be out a couple of weeks after the full release.

    Agreed Xurion

When owning a company, the first thing is placing emphasis on those who are devoted customers, not those who are teetering on the brink of deciding whether they want peanut butter or tuna fish sandwiches.

MWILBER, if you do not know flash already and are waiting to buy Flash MX, you will not be harmed and should not "worry" about whether a demo trial version is a few weeks late.

    What's the worry?

yup... if you're waiting for the demo/trial you'll survive i'd be guessing, if you're an existing developer, you're going to buy on friday and the trial isn't a thing to be concerned about. even if it is just a hobby, as it is for some people :winkwink:.

Sheesh, it seems like when I even hint at something that might effect Macromedia's profits even the slightest, sarcasm or not, I get pounced on.

I AM an existing Flash developer, and have been for many years. I'm just caught up in all the hype and want to play with MX now! But when I buy software for myself I like to try it out first. It just seems to me that it wouldn't be that difficult to add the '30-day demo' code to MX since they already have it for all their other stuff.

Just calm down everyone, I'll be giving Macromedia money soon.

I'd like the trial version, and I'll tell you why. The main reason I personally want MX is coz of the new video capabilities. For some odd reason, on the Macromedia site, they have a Flash movie on the main page that describes in detail all the new features EXCEPT the video feature. That to me is the biggest news re: MX. I'm sort of perplexed about this. It makes me wonder if MM really has it worked out. Do I need glasses or something? But it seems there's no descriptions re: the new video stuff. Oh, well. I'm sure I'll buy MX anyway. It's just that I'm on a deadline for a project which is on hold coz if MX works the way it's touted, then we have to quickly re-structure how we're going to do things.
