Thread: PETITION FOR MM TO GET THEIR SERVER IN WORKING ORDER AGAIN

1. #21

Finally...

Finally I got through to get my upgrade...

The most upsetting thing is to know that the problem was NOT withe the large number of downloads. They use VBox to do the downloads for them. The download went VERY quickly.

What went wrong on was on Macromedia's own servers. The JSP application was overwhelmed by requests and crashed.

This was very simple to avoid by adding a load balancer, and some more servers to handle the transactions.

Performance = 0
Execution = 0
Planning = 0

Jeez guys... too much sugar this morning?

It's called HYPE, companies do this for a purpose. They put out teasers, just like they do with popular movies. Then the day it comes out, the theater is so packed you generally have a hard time getting in.

Do you complain? No, you just go see it another day.

What is so pertinent that you MUST MUST MUST ABSOLUTLY MUST have it today and only today?

Does a client you have say you can ONLY do a project in flashMX? No! So don't worry about it.

If you cared so much, you should have got up way early and kept trying like the rest of us did until you got your copy.

SMILE! All is well, MX is here now guys!!!

Peace all!

Hmmm

Well Not coming down on macromedia still but they should expected this. It's not the first this has happen when a new softwares are being launch. So they should have been ready.

They have a saying in Jamaica
"If you want good your nose has to run" Meaning good things come to those who wait and just wait to get the good thing.
But macromedia please do better next time..

I think all this hype is making folks want to download it even more. Maybe a marketing strategy to get people hooked?

Or maybe not...

How the hell does that mean good things come to those who wait?

Maybe it means "good things come to those who are alergic to cats and hang out with them anyway".

What are they smoking over there in jamaica anyway?
never mind

Yea, this has been a bummer. But what I would love to know is how many hits they have had on their servers. It must be wild over their.

yes it works, and for those of us who are on Macintosh, replace the .exe with a .hqx.

http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...x_trial_en.hqx

i got mine in at 300+k/sec.

if people would have done a LITTLE BIT of investigating in these boards before whining and complaining, they would see that me and another guy posted this info already!

damn, relax people, it's only a program, you will have it, if not today, you will tomorrow.

personally I am HAPPY that Macromedia did not try to accomodate everyone. Can you imagine the size in traffic, how slow we would all be getting it in at? There is not a router or server in the world that could handle that much through-put at once, without paying enormous amounts of cash for, wnd WHY would MM want to do that when the damn application will be in the shelves in a week or so anyhow!

Perhaps you guys who are complaining want to put in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for the server system? that's what i though.

Enjoy it, be happy and stop whining!

cheers!

Simply Ridiculous, Servers down, yeah right, Marketing Ploy.

What kind of servers are they running? An old Atari 2600 with a keyboard attachment?

Oh no wait, maybe they are using a PocketPC to run the servers.

Really, I been trying all day! Pretty pathetic.
