hey everyone. I coded a semi-working model of the Mandelbrot fractal in flash MX. There is the ability to zoom in on any region, which is kind of cool. But I have a question: the fractal doesn't look quite right. Can anyone tell me how flash MX deals with floating point numbers and are there any shortcuts or fast algorithms that can use them efficently? thanks

I fixed it. It looks 1000 times better than the other version. It is using such a low "resolution" because Flash is really slow at crunching those floating point calculations. click to zoom in and see how far you are willing to go (or your computer!)

thx. I'm at school right now, so when I get home I'll post the .fla
I did a full resolution image and it took SOOO long. I will add controls for resolution, zoom, and position.
