Thread: button active under layer

  1. #1
I'm calling a movie to load on top of another movie. The first movie (layer 1) has six buttons on it. Each button calls a second movie that loads on layer 2. Problem is, when I load the second movie (layer 2) the buttons on the first movie (layer 1) are still active (but not visible). Pass the cursor over the grey background I've got on the second movie and at certain points (when it passes over the button on layer 1) it "hands" itself just as if the button was on layer 2, although no button on layer 2 (in that area) exists. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong? Is there an easy fix? Anyone??

load them onto the same level....the second movie will replace the first

No - I don't want it to replace the first movie. That's the whole idea behind layers. If I did that then the first movie (with Nav elements) would have to be loaded AGAIN when the 2nd movie is un-loaded. Introduce time lag (even though small). Unacceptable. No load time when the first movie remains loaded on layer 1 - the 2nd movie (and 3rd, 4th etc) unload and WHAM there you are.

Is this the normal behavior of layered movies on top of buttons? Is there an easy way to change it?

    Any one else?
