Guys this is how industry works....don't think about Microsoft...I know, I hate them too... BUT this is how it goes, as the world turns in one way and not in the other.

EVERY INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT AROUND YOU, could be a "beta release", better known as pre-series.
IT'S PART OF THE GAME, AND UNFORTUNATELY CUSTOMERS BUY THE PRODUCT FOR THE SAME PRICE OF A LATER RELEASED FINISHED VERSION.

Your new down-hill mountain bike, you new motorcycle, your new COMPUTER, your car, your new washing machine, your new playstation, your new minidisc player.
Every product that has just been released MUST NEVER BE BOUGHT!!! because they'r ALWAYS TESTING IT.

    a few examples:
Audi TT was released with heavy aerodynamic defects, a few dead people pushed the company to modify all the units sold for free.
Sony Playstation one has been under development for 3 years after release, as the latest ones, opened, are completely different from the first ones, that had CD optics and cooling problems, amongst others.
Manitou's SX 95(front suspention for mountainbike, with a Magnesium body)has been checked and replaced where needed from the Manitou technicians for free, all around the world, because the moulding process was done at the wrong temperature, and the metal was probably pushed too slowly in the mould, as 2% of the sold pieces has air bubbles in the chassis....you know that at 50MPH downhill on a mountain bike, riding on the countryside, you don't want your bike to fold up under you.....

Pre-series as betatesting is a natural part of the development process of a project.

It can be good or bad, it's the law of the jungle.
