I was wondering if it is possible to browse a local or remote directory or to list local files using MX?

I was just thinking of being able to add jpegs to a specific folder and having flash list them, allowing the user to select an image to load.

not to my knowledge.
you require middleware, php or something similiar.
not sure how you would do it locally.

We did it in Flash 5.

If I remember correctly, what we did was use an invisible frame in HTML, called it from within Flash and made it appear, then used Javascript to pass the string value in the input field back to the Flash movie.

If you're interested, I'll try to put the code together again and post a demo.
