I'm trying to figure out how to create an animated fire effect in flash but I can't seem to find any tutorials to help with it. I've looked through the movies and tutorials here, but I can't seem to find something that will work for me. Most of the stuff I've seen is basically animated GIFs that they have imported into flash. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Just import a gif animation. And trace over the flames frame by frame. Use a mix of alpaha and layer the frames on top of one another using a orange/red and yellow layer.

    Some gifs here:

    Great! Thanks. But Another Question.

    Hey megatoon!

Thanks for the help! But I was wondering also if anyone can give me advice on how to actually create an original fire effect in Flash (outside of importing an animated GIF). Is this the wrong forum to be asking questions like these?

    Thanks again!

Nope. Altho the question suits a number of forums. The ony other thing a can think of. Is to use shape tweening with key frames set really close to together.

    Fir effect..

To do this fire effect you need photoshop.....

Goto the flashkit tutorials page and goto photoshop tutorials section..

After learning how to create fire with text.. (very simple) then you can just create a white line and do all the fire effect settings needed you can then just cut out the fire and paste or import it into your flash as an image.. looks very professional and realistic.

Once you have created the fire text then you can go onto fire images and as i said make the side of your page look like it on fire..

I did this effect for a game cover i made in school months ago and the teacher liked it and said it was very original so it is a very cool effect..

    I forgot...

I forgot to mention that if you want to animate the fire then you can just cut out about 5 of the protruding flames and give them a little shape tween movement so the sway in a firey motion or even alpha some of the background flames in and out with the shape tweens..

    Just an idea.

Hey, Daniel. Where do I find the photoshop tutorials? They aren't of the tutorial page as far as I can tell.

    Thanks!
