For the SOTD comments crowd. Which of the "What's new" sites would you say deserves Site of the Day?

Which of the "What's new" sites would you say deserves Site of the Day?

In my opinion I would most like to see new Flash design by non-commercial, non-mainstream designers. I would accept ground-breaking design from a commercial site as long as it was truly something new and not something re-hashed from old ideas.

My aversion to commercial sites is that they have the money to throw at big projects and are seldom original or inspirational.

Like the W.W.W. evolved from the masses so has good Flash design, to see it rehashed by the commercial sites makes SOTD looks like a cheap advertisment platform for them.

new, original, inovative, inspirational, non-profit, non-commercial should be the main criteria for SOTD.

Thanks to Flashkit and jstarkey for placing studio:cmd [activemedia] v02.2 as site of the day.

It is a great honour, and has brought a lot of traffic my way.

Glommycus, I am noticing sour grapes from yourself, and granted, inko.cjb.net is a fine site - you have worked hard, it shows, and yes, I concur that it deserves a site of the day placement.

After all, Flashkit is about community and member support, therefore it should only go with the FK direction that its own members are chosen when their work reaches a level of standard expertise and professionalism.

studio:cmd [activemedia] v02.2 was noticed and linked by FK some time ago Gloomycus, and therefore I would believe that this is the reason it was placed... That and white-pony promoting it (albeit un-nervingly) everywhere he goes.

jstarkey, I think you should take a good look at inko.cjb.net, and consider placing it as site of the day. It's been about 24 hours since studio:cmd was placed in the forefront, and I would 'pass the torch' as it were, with honour if you chose Gloomycus.

    Thanks all!

    J

Thanks for the comments. Sorry if I sounded angry, but it was because it was my understanding that the newest sites were nominable for the site of the day, and because the date of teh submission for your site was earlier than mine, it had its chance.

    criteria for SOTD

Perhaps it would be a good idea to draw up some criteria (and post it) for SOTD and have a panel who would select each recipient.

At the moment it seems to be hit and miss and the selection procedure seems almost non-existent.

If members are allowed to complain about not getting a SOTD and then they end up getting it.......etc, etc.

You could end up with a free for all!
