    Smile

... without any programs open. The music is not very loud, but I tested it in my office, it's not just me that can hear it.

Hope my Mac will learn to cook a great meal tomorrow, hopefully better then the endless loop that he plays today.

Did your computer ever did something creative to you?

    Fredi

PS: I've done no restart, so maybe it's a soundloop from a Flash site that took a place somewhere in the memory and don't wanna leave.

check for the sub 7 trojan.

computers have a habit of not behaving but playing music when its not suppose to or doing werid things is usually the work of others

Ohhhhh, thats's funny. I opened a swf with the Flash Player and that sound stoped playing. So it was a Flash MX bug!

Now I have to try all the swf I opened in the player today, maybe that hapens again. (But I think not)

I like the theory that your Mac was just trying to be friendly.

Mine smiles at me when I start it up. And we've all seen the commercials where they break out into dance... Why not compose music for you?

for a while my ibook decided to turn on the speakable items... it was nice.. for about a week or so i just walked in the room and said

    "computer! get my mail"

and it would get online and check my email for me...

then it quit loading speakable items at startup after a week or so... i could go back and turn it on manually.. but, i think the window with the chick in it is kind of annoying... i liked the knock knock jokes though

LOL, so I'm not the only one who was inexplicably enthralled by this feature?

"Look, look! My computer tells me jokes!"

If the Mac crashes a window comes up with the message:

"Sorry, a Microsoft application has just overwrited the OS memory. I can't do anything cause I lost needed information. If you want, send Bill a hate mail, i would appreciate it. I can't do it myself cause I have a crash right now, but I would be trully happy when you can do it for me. I will give you all my special energy after the restart."

    That would be nice!

all you need is resedit and some free time my friend

I think there was an article in a previous macaddict about how to hack your own alert messages into the OS using resedit..

On PC I used "resource Hacker" a lot. At the iEX here in Switzerland (The biggest Internet show) I've done a game for the MSN network. I hacked the hole swf player to show the Copyright information if someone used the right mouse button.
