They are seperate computers, seperate CPUs and proceseors, which means that they can both do big tasks.

Both networked along with the other PC, with broadband.

I thought the purpose of a LAN is to have computers SPREAD AROUND the working evironment, not side by side. You could have just transferred info between them with a floppy for gods sakes!

You have the best setup ever, and you don't even realize it.

Toss one keyboard, and one mouse.

Setup some dual-monitor vid-cards on both pcs.

    get a good KVM switch.

BAM, you have 2 computers, both capable of running dual-monitor, swapped on a KVM.

    Do it.

    twin displays

That set-up looks vstrangely familiar. I've also got two pc's on the same desk networked together. One has an S-Video out where I connected my 32" tv as a second monitor, but only use it to show presentations/examples to customers

floppys only hold 1.44mb. what if you want to transfer say 20gb? what if you want to share the same printer, what about if you want to share the same internet connection. the purpose of a lan is to share resources with different computers.

Gimme on sec dude, in order to transfer all these songs to your machine I have to burn them, it will be about half an hour..

    *20 minutes later*
Cra. dude, the burn failed, dangit, gimme a few, I gotta do this all over again.

    *half an hour later*

    Here you go man..

    *puts CDRW in Drive2*
Oh no, this drive doesnt support CDRW's.. You need to burn it to a regular CDR

    *half hour later*
Ok man, this sucks, I'm going out to buy LAN items.

Ok, I think LAN works for even close machines..

I used to have a setup like that, I miss it, next upgrade I guess..
