    can we have multiple variables defined in a textfile... i.e. only one text file to be loaded and we can refer to different variables defined in that text file only.

    the window attribute, are you trying to load it into a frame?

    if you are just put the frame name in... i hope you've labeled your frame with an id attribute

    if it's going to open a pop-up, or load into its own page use

    _blank, _parent etc....

    if i dunt use these external variables... this is what i have to rite

    getURL ("cards.htm", "mainFrame");

    to open cards.htm in the bottom frame... dreamweaver named that frame MAINFRAME automatically when i added a top frame.
    so i always need to rite mainFrame to correctly open it..

    that is why i provided "mainframe" in that variable "window" in the text file.. but it doest work.
