Do all of you just buy/rent the domains or where do you them?

I have all my sites hosted from http://www.nirmani.net

The guy who owns nirmani is great with support and fast e-mail replies. He also makes any changes to the server in a matter of hours. Prices are also pretty good, 15% off by paying annually, no setup or domain registration fees.

i grab mine at http://www.godaddy.com. Cheap, reliable and rather good email support.

You want to make sure that you are able to change and configure the name servers yourself, i have delt with domain / registrars in the past who would not offer that. So watch out but nothing wrong with shopping around.

I "tested" godaddy for the domain transfers, and even that went very well and rather smoothly.

    namecheap

I just started using http://www.namecheap.com - Great price, fast support and really good domain manager with all the options you need.

http://www.registerfly.com also seems to be ok, but their support is not the fastest one.

I also use http://www.godaddy.com - but they are flooding you with advertisements when you sign up a new domain and also send emails to your clients. Their support is good, though. I will move my domains from godaddy to namecheap.

http://www.stargate.com was good, too, but they raised their prices.

Many ppl also like http://www.000domains.com, but they are nearly double the price of namecheap with the same features.

You can also have a look at http://www.sitepointforums.com to get more information.

I host my site at nomonthlyfees.com, and although I'm not experienced with other hosts, I think mine is awesome. Check it out. $200US for the first year and $70US for every consequent year. No monthly fees. Every thing you would imagine (at least what I could ever need).
