here's an interesting idea, maybe not what you're looking for, but something I've done before.
If you have access to a scanner: crumple up a piece of paper, flatten it out, and scan it.
Then, in Photoshop paste it as it's own layer, and manipulate the layer settings with the image you're using over it, and the crumpled paper layer. You'll get an interesting look to it, I don't have any examples, though, but it's something cool to mess with.
good luck,

A great example of this technic can be found at webagent007.com in his wallpaper area..
He does the crumple and scan thing but i think he also does a scan of a transparency that he has thrown on the ground scratched all up...Even includes hairs !....heh
Anywho....this is the best way to get the look you desire...it comes out looking great..
my 2 cents...JBOMB

do this;
search images.google for paper
find a piece of crumpled paper
open it in ps
edit>define as brush
then open a new do choose a light brown color
and start messing with the brush..
add new layers and blend
for long you'll have crumpled paper.
;D

thanks again mg33, I went for the scannning-way and it worked fine!
Eggler: yeah the last stone texture looks good, I'll also try that and reduce the contrast
