Stop Action -- is this the correct forum for SWISH?

It says "Flash Kit Community." And I ended up in the "newbie" area, but it was for FLASH not SWISH. So I hope I am in the correct area now??

Q. How does one STOP an action? I went to Insert, Action, Stop. But the action continues. I just want to learn how to stop something after having the action happen one time.

If I apply the action to fade in some words, I would like them to just STOP after the fade and stay there. How would I do that if not using the "stop" action?

You STOP and PLAY and DIRECT a movie from the SCENE line.

If your fade in or whatever effect is 10 ot 200 frames long at the last frame of the effect put a STOP in the corresponding frame in the SCENE line ( the top one)

You mean, for example, if I have 3 lines of text, and each of them are doing a different action, and I want the entire movie to STOP at the end of one scene, that I apply the STOP action to the actual line where it says SCENE? opposed to trying to stop each individual line's action????

Yes, unless esch text is a seperate sprite, then you can stop them whenever where ever you like by doing the sane thing in their individual Sprite scene lines.
