I've read that there'll be a Remoting Componetn for ASP.NET soon .

I think when MM publish a ASP.NET one they'll publish a PHP Version soon otherwise the mighty OpenSource People will...
-
Why PHP?
The ASP.NET version will not be given away, it will be a product that will be sold like anything else.

i hope they will publish one for php too
cheers

1 more question , I think that PHP may need to be upgraded to 5.0 or something to support??
As Coldfusion must be MX .
Asp.net is also need to be revised??
Or they may have solution(Like extension file) for server-to make asp.net ,Php ,Perl to communicate with Flash?
-
Like all other Macromedia products, once available, the ASP.NET solution will be an application that you will <u>purchase</u> and install on the server.
Andrew

But i think with the possibilities of MX, freaks are able to write their own Class Libraries for Database interaction i.e PHP !!!
-
But why PHP when it costs so much more to develop and deploy than ColdFusion?
Andrew
-
Yes , I like CF but noone here in my country uses CF.
!!!
CF is so <b>expensive</b>
-
Pardon my ignorance but how is ColdFusion expensive?
Andrew
-
Do you ever buyed an ColdFusion Server ???
PHP is Free to run !
-
Sorry Roele
Poor argument, there's also a free version of ColdFusion for both Windows and Linux:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/c...r_express.html
While I will not argue that PHP is not free to run I do presume that you're under the misunderstanding that if the feature complete version of ColdFusion costs money to buy the total cost of developing a dynamic web site with it is going to be more than PHP.
If that is true you need a new accountant.
You obviously don't charge (or don't charge market rates) for your labor costs as the difference alone is more than the cost of purchasing ColdFusion Professional.
Andrew
There's no such thing as a free lunch
-
I just had lunch..my boss bought it for me. But anyway... To run in a production environment CF can be expensive, esp in a Microsoft Environment. Yes it is cheaper in unix/linux world but you still need to spend 2000+ for the server software.
PhP can run on linux and is free, your cost is time and thats all.

Flash Remoting and PHP
I have been seeing a lot of questions about support for PHP with Flash Remoting. Currently, Flash Remoting doesn't support PHP. As far as future support, we haven't made any announcements concerning this, but we will be making some more announcements related to Flash Remoting in the near future.
Hope that helps...
