    I don't understand the steps to script a pop-up window. I tried but it's all screwed up.

    on my button, I wrote this:
    on (release) {
    getURL("javascript:newWindow('test.html','newWin', 'height=405,width=550,toolbar=0,menubar=0,location =0,scrollbars=1,resizable=1')\", vars=POST)

    I just get a full size window with nothing in it.

    I know I didn't do it the right way... cause I don't understand what I am doing, I am confused, even though I look at some of the tutorials on this site. Could someone explain to me like to a dummy.

    Okay, what I don't understand is: do I have to open my html page in dreamweaver and write that script between <tags>? as well as on my button?

    yes, open the html in dreamweaver or any text editor you wish. insert the javascript defining the newWindow function between the head tags.

    USE this web address to build the buttons actionScript.
    http://www.flash-db.com/PopUp/

    if you use this you won't need any script in your html!

    I tried the last option without HTML. it didn't work.. what did I do wrong...

    on (release) {
    getURL ("javascript:NewWindow=window.open('http://loaded.php','newWin','width=400,height=300,left=0, top=0,toolbar=No,location=No,scrollbars=No,status= No,resizable=No,fullscreen=No'); NewWindow.focus(); void(0);");
    }
