welcome to swish help esherbet,
lease upload the swi to your server and post the link here, so someone can take a look. it's hard to tell what you have to do without having seen the file.

Re>scrolling text
You know like the one on http://www.swishzone.com? like that scrolling text.

Hi Esherbert,
If you mean the text being crunched up by the gears on that site then I think you will find it is using masking for the text to disappear.
As it slides in from the right - it comes into to right of the rectangular mask and then goes behind the other end of the rectangular mask on the left.

Em yeeah

Hi Esherbet,
If you give me more detail about what it is you are trying to achieve then I will try and build an example for you.
Is it the effect I mentioned?
Do you want the text crunched like that or just to slide in from right and disappear to left?
Cheers...

Cool
Just to slide in from right and disappear to left that would be perfect!
Thx for your help
Cheers!

Hi again Esherbet,
Take a look at these...
http://home.iprimus.com.au/dennett/MaskedScrollText.swf
http://home.iprimus.com.au/dennett/MaskedScrollText.swi
This is a very basic example of masking. The text and its rectangular mask are created and then both selected and grouped as sprite.
The sprite has its Masked parameter checked and the mask (the rectangle in this case - but it could be any shape) must be at the bottom of the sprite. These 2 steps are very important or it will not work.
Now apply the effect to the text - which in our case is a move across the rectangle from right to left.
Thats all there is to it - hope this helps.
There are some great tutorials around - check http://www.purifiedproductions.com/tutorials/index.htm for visual step by step covering many topics.
