What do YOU look for in flash deisgn
    I look for...
    • Good music(not annoying)
    • Fast loading
    • Awsomerific graphics
    • Cool text effects(like SWiSH does)
    • A "Skip Intro" thingy
    • Colors that don't blind me(and match)
    • And it has to be longer than 3 seconds(if its a movie)

What does everyone else look for in Flash Design?

i agree with damaso with interactivity and with enkriptid looking for flaws. but for swampy on content, flash is a designing tool, possibly a light programming tool, but it is not, inherently, a content provider. i've seen alot of really nicely done flash sites that had nothing to say or present...

I guess that's the difference between designers and developers.

Deigners are happy when something is aesthetically pleaseing, developers are so anal that we want the thing to do something

not me, I want both, form and function, otherwise neilsen is right. Many of the Flash sites I see look like practice for skills that may be needed in the future when they get a real job.

    Neilson is my hero

seriously though, I agree that form and function are both important, which is why I pointed out that function wasn't included by dpark in his criteria.

It depends on what the individual site is setting out to achieve and what I want to get out of it.

I can go onto yugop or praystaion and mess around for hours and get mesmerised by it all but then I wouldn't want the same thing on Amazon ( which is downright ugly but serves it's purpose excellently).

    [edit]
maybe amazon was a bad example as it's not "flash" design, but you get the point I'm trying to make

    Two things I hate.
    1. Words or buttons you have to put your mouse over or click just to find out what it is. In other words: too small o'text.
    2. Buttons that you have to hover over just to find out what the button is.
