i just got back from seeing it at a 12:01am showing in toronto.

too tired for a review but i'd give it 5/10

    for reference:
    spiderman 7/10
    ep one 3/10

not disappointing, i know what to expect though some of the effects weren't as good as a thought they should have been. I'd say spiderman had more polished effects. The sweeping views of cities and planets were superb though. The acting was fairly dire, except for mcgregor and jackson... the new guy was totally wooden!

fun experience all in all though.

I can honestly say Star Wars has never interested me so the hype surrounding it is something of a mystery. I watch the pantom menace a couple of times and it was dreadful so doesn't inspire confidence! Just thought I'd share

hmmm... watching it on a crappy monitor with bad sound and frame rate or watching it on a 40ft cinema screen with 5.1 surround sound whilst eating popcorn!?

yeah, i know which one i'd pick

if anyones seen the dvd special of episode one where at the end they show a clip of the premiere and everyone cheers when the starwars logo pops up IT WAS JUST LIKE THAT!!

prob the best cinema experience ever, had some irish guy sitting beside us who was funny as hell, somehow managed to get the whole cinema laughing without spoiling the film

saw someone dressed as princess leir and darth vader, but i think they where cinema staff, also seen some people arive by limo!!

um, bout all i'll say without spoiling the film - it put the WAR in starwars if you ask me

    Okay

I must agree that watching it on your monitor isn't as mutch fun as watching it in the cinema, but I do have a plasma-monitor and 5.1 surround sound (with the best Cambridge Soundwork set you can get so it wasn't that bad

people actually slept outside the Senator theatre all last night to get tickets.

they had tents, sofas, coolers... there was a line of star-wars fanatics all the way down the street sleeping on the sidewalk... wtf!

Is that the same as the Uptown theatre on Connecticut Avenue in DC? People were sleepig out there for a couple weeks.
