keep menu´s state

I am developing a website which haves a flash menu at the top of the page. That menu will have three submenus which are
called with a "telltarget" to frames posterior to the first.
But, now I have a problem... what can I do to keep this menu´s state the same when the user changes the html page by clicking on it? ( to keep marked a session like "sales" ´cause the user will be on this place )
( Given the fact I couldn´t use HTML frames on that page. )

I reckon you could only do it with frames


Or... open what you want to open in a new window.
