Whever you an email with an attachment, you get a dialog box which shows up with two options, either open the file from the email or save it to disk and underneath there is a check box you uncheck so it can remember.

Normally I have that dialog box show up but just then I was saving a couple pdf's from email to disk and unchecked that dialog box cause I thought it'd remember the option to save to disk, but instead it just opened it. DAMN MICROSOFT!

Anyone know how to turn this back on?

To prevent newsgroup messages from automatically downloading
On the Tools menu, click Options.

On the Read tab, clear the following check box: Automatically download messages when viewing in the Preview Pane.

    see if that works

hard to find this one, i know.

our microsoft friends hid it not inside outlook, but in explorer.
open any file explorer window, click tools> folder options> file types>
then scroll down to the type you want to change (in your case .pdf).

now press the 'advanced' button. finally check 'confirm open after download'.
    press 'ok'.

    here's a quick screenshot:

If you had Exchange you could save the files after opening them is why I was asking. Have you checked your cache? If you opened them remotely, then they're on your PC somewhere.

    Top stuff! It worked!
I then tried to uncheck the box to see if it'll remember to Save to disk. It doesn't stupid. LOL! At least I know where to set it back now. Micro$oft!
