    Did you know that.....
Australia has at least 18 snakes more venomous than rattlesnakes.

LD50 is a way of measuring toxicity. It is based on the dose which will kill half the animals in a lab test (the lower the figure, the more toxic)

The Eastern Diamond Back Rattlesnake has a LD50 of 11.4
The Australian Fierce Snake has a LD50 of only 0.025

15 times the number of fatalities attributed to Sharks!!!

    Did you know:

More than 45,000 pieces of plastic debris float on every square mile of ocean.

If we were to up-turn the Millennium Dome at Greenwich, London, it would take 3.8 billion half-liters of beer to fill it up.

good thread dave, did you know...

Frogs have to watch out for all kinds of enemies in the wild. There are a wide variety of frog predators. Animals that eat frogs for snacks include snakes, lizards, birds, and various small animals like hedgehogs. Even under water frogs cant be safe from hungry sharp toothed fish, swimming mammals like water shrews, and even diving birds! As if that wasn't bad enough, frogs even have to watch out for other hungry frogs!

    Did you know that....
    An Australian invented refrigeration.
By 1857, James Harrison was producing 3 tonnes of ice per day.
The first mechanical refrigeration system in the world was installed in a Geelong Brewery (makes sense really).

Is there a reason everyone is posting about animals?

Did you know that a ball of glass will bounce higher than a ball of rubber?

If you don't believe me, I read it on the bottom of a Snapple bottle cap, with these "strange but true" sort of facts.
